DAY OF CONCERT DETAILS!!!

Aloha Ladies,
It's finally here!  I'm so excited to be and sing with you tomorrow.  Please make note of the following bullet points:

SEAT ASSIGNMENTS IN THE CHOIR LOFT: I want to publicly thank Laurel Hafen for the many hours she spent designing how to put all of you in your own seat by height, voice part, standing or sitting, etc. etc. etc.  She literally saved my sanity!  You will be receiving an email today with your seat assignment.  There are a few of you who never gave me your email.  Please contact one of your friends in the choir and they can easily see and tell you where you sit by referencing the email they received.

DRESS:
All black dress or skirt and blouse.  Sleeves that cover your upper arms and dress/skirt length that covers your knees when you sit.

SCARF:  Mono-colored scarf (just one color.... one) tied however you like.

HAIR/MAKEUP: Wear it however you feel most "performance-like".  If you don't normally wear makeup, you might want to apply some mascara, blush and lip color so you don't look pale and near death under the lights...

If you want to wear other clothes for the rehearsal and change into your performance outfit, you'll need to make sure you have a place to change on your own.  Their isn't space in the Tabernacle for that.

PARKING: You may park in the Conference Center parking free of charge if you'd like.  Your name is on a list.  Tell the parking attendant (if there is one that you are with the We Also Sing! Choir).

1:05pm ENTER the Tabernacle from the Southwest doors (unless they change that instruction) and sit in the pews until we call you up to your very own cool special seat in the choir loft.

1:15-4:30pm REHEARSAL: There will be lots of people doing lots of things (setting up sound, lights, instrumentalists,  all the cool stuff) so please stay focused on your part of the concert so we can make this feel like we've been doing this together for years!

4:30-5:30pm: SHORT BREAK to eat something and finish preparing yourself for two amazing concerts.  You'll probably want to bring plenty of water and something to eat during this break because there isn't very much time to go off the square to get food.  Please don't eat your food in the Concert Hall proper.  There will be a place to eat downstairs in the "horseshoe" during the break.

5:30pm: Meet in the Horseshoe for our last few minutes together to focus and set our intentions for the Concert. We'll show you where that is tomorrow.

5:45pm: Move into your very own cool special seat in the choir loft.

6:00pm: CONCERT #1

7:00pm: There will be no time for you to leave the choir loft unless you have to go to the bathroom or grab a quick snack (gals that are pregnant or have blood sugar issues).

7:30pm: CONCERT #2

8:30pm: Meet your family and friends outside the Tabernacle (pick a door for them to greet you).  Temple Square Event folks like to clear the hall pretty quickly so let's help them do that.

SOLO AUDITION RESULTS!!!!

Thank you to the almost 80 women who auditioned for solos.  It was very difficult to choose and I know several of you will be sad.  I truly am very sorry about that.  Thank you for trusting enough to come and put yourself on the line.

There will be a soloist for the 6PM performance and a different soloist for the 7:30PM performance.

Aloha Ladies,
We have 294 ladies in the Choir.  196 from the North and 98 from the South. 
We have room for 70 more ladies.  This will be the last week we can add anybody. 
If your friends/family want to join and they can attend the rest of our rehearsals (including this week), have them fill out the google form so we can get them on the list.

We Also Sing!

We are 364 women who come from St. George to Ogden.  Many of us are wives and mothers.  Some of us are divorced, widowed, or single.  We are housewives, employers, employees and students.  Some of us are rich and struggling, others are poor and struggling.  We laugh, we cry, we try to make a difference.  Oh, and...  We Also Sing!

Aloha Ladies!

I can’t tell you how excited I am for our opportunity to sing together again!  This year, as guests of the Temple Square Concert Series, we have been invited to be the choir that lights the square for the Christmas Season!  This is a great opportunity for us, and our ability to fill the choir seats (364) as well as the Tabernacle twice will make a difference in the lives of many people, including ourselves. 

Our concerts will be Saturday, November 24 at 6:00pm and 7:30pm.  Please make note of the rehearsal schedule below.  If you are able to attend ALL the rehearsals, join us for this amazing event.  For these concerts, we will be combining ladies from the north and the south.  We will take the first 182 ladies from the north and the first 182 ladies from the south to make an amazing 364 voice choir.  Ladies who sign up and then miss rehearsals will be placed on a waiting list (and risk the possibility of not performing in the concert).  This gives opportunity for sisters who weren’t part of the first 364 to sign up, who have attended all the rehearsals, to perform.

The bottom line is...  If you can’t attend every rehearsal, please wait and join us another year.

Feel free to pass this information on to any women you know who would like to sing with us. 

You must be at least 16 years old to be in the choir.

NORTH REHEARSALS

All rehearsals will be at the LDS chapel located at 1495 W. Tamarack Avenue (4630 S.) Taylorsville, UT 84123.  From I15, travel west off the 4500 South exit, turn right onto 1175 West and make an immediate left onto Tamarack. The LDS church is a few blocks up on your left.

            The total cost to sing in the choir is $45.00.  This fee includes all your music, sales tax, rehearsal CD and its related costs, office supplies and professional musicians who will play our concerts.  The director and accompanists donate their time.
